Christmas and Years End 2022

Well it’s only 1 week until Christmas and 2022 will soon be a memory and 2023 is waiting. I’ve been so busy until now with work being the centre of my world. It has been so good to just chill out for the last couple days before Summer School begins.

It will be good to see family and chill out with friends to after Christmas and enjoy good company, Kerry’s mum did pass over 6 weeks ago and it was a sad time for all. Kerry isn’t coping well but he is starting to adjust to life without his mum,

Next year will be see more challenges and juggling of my time as I have so much going on. More travel ahead and I hope overseas may be a possibility - nothing since 2019.

Well that’s me signing off for this year. I plan to blog again next year - hope fully more regularly…

Spring - and new possibilities

A short post since I haven’t written for a while…
Now winter is over with all the rain and cold weather spring brings new possibilities with walking again and visiting friends and family.
Work has been crazy as normal and I have been away in Wellington for work - always raining.
I look forward to a warm summer outdoors and a break with family & friends over summer - even though I’m working summer school again.
People passing is also sad- the recent death of Angela Lansbury at 96 and Robbie Coltrane at 72. Kerry’s Mum is also not long with us as I write this - reminds me of Mum.that I miss dearly.
I will post again before Christmas - its always a great time of year with too much food.

The Grips of Winter - Snuggle down and reflect…

Well it is the middle of winter heading into July next week. Work is crazy busy but I’m looking forward to a break in the South Island in a couple of weeks. Covid-19 isn’t in the limelight anymore but the flu is. I got my jab a couple weeks ago so hopefully I won't get sick over this period.

It was great to celebrate Matariki recently and even though Friday was.a quiet day the week was great to celebrate the events and going to the Auckland Astrodome was a great thrill.

I look forward to a break but will remember Mum as the first anniversary of her death approaches. I love you Mum and miss you always.

Winter approaches

Well its term 2 2022 now and now in June. I’m loving the colder weather and cozy nights. Work is its usual madness but thats to be expected as the work term settles in. Things seem to be getting back to normal with Covid-19 and people out and about planning vacations etc. I’m still cautious and have had my flu vaccination recently. I don’t want to get sick or pick anything up.
I’m away in July in the South Island for a break but there is plenty on the agenda before then.
It’s great catching up with friends and family and not worry about Covid but there is still plenty of it about.
I guess if you don’t get out there you will never get to see and do things. I look forward to what is in store and will post again after my trip away.

Getting back to business

The term has started and life is starting to get back to normal. Work is busy and Covid-19 is strongly with us in the community. I have been trying to keep my head down and just catching up casually with friends, limiting my contact.

I had a head cold over a week ago and got a bit worried I got Covid-19. I had an antigen (RAT) test and it was negative. I was unwell for a couple days but I’m a lot better. So many of my friends and family have Covid-19 and people are struggling with everyday life.

I’m looking forward to a break in around a month in the Coromandel. I’m planning to go away with friends for 4 days to be tourists and visit the sites. It will be good to catch up with the friend Andrew again. I stayed with him after Christmas for a couple days and readily enjoyed it.

More to come next month with the end of term and Easter break. I can’t believe how fast time is flying.

New Horizons - End of 2021 and 2022

Well I haven't blogged for a while so I thought I would put some thoughts down to reflect on the the last 2 years. With Covid-19 dominating the scene for 2020 and 2021 it has been a time of uncertainty.  I haven't enjoyed lockdowns generally but I have understood their purpose. Life goes on and with Mum's death in July 2021 and my life has changed. I am reminded how precious life is and spending time with friends and family more a priority.

On the work front I have enjoyed my fixed-term management duties in Science in 2020/2021 and I have learning much about working with people. I look forward to the new challenges 2022 will bring with my new Chemistry management position. (a little nervous as this is permanent)

I'm looking forward to the break ahead and spending time with friends and family over the next little while. I will try and blog more in 2022 and reflect on what has been.
